Deep sea fishing Deep sea fishing is becoming a rapidly growing sport on the island. Being labelled as the island’s ‘greatest attraction’, deep sea fishing offers year round fishing opportunities. Tuna and kingfish are among the many catches you will be returning with. Missa Ferdie and Overdraft are two respectable companies that will show your the way of the fisherman. Scuba diving Antigua is overflowing with dive sites. The expert diver and the beginner can find majestic reefs inspiring further exploration of the mysterious waters. All will be endlessly engrossed by the colours and movements of the waters from exotic marine life to coral canyons. Snorkelling Coral canyons, exotic marine life, wall drops and reefs are easily witnessed from the surface of the waters. Hot Air balloon In 1995 Todd Challenger originated the first Hot Air Balloon Festival in the Caribbean. Now hot air ballooning has taken off all over the island and beyond. You can visit the island any time of year and have the chance to experience the oldest form of manned flight. If you visit during the last week of November through the first week of December you will be able to feast your eyes on an array of colours created by hundreds of hot air balloons participating in the International Hot Air Balloon Festival, now in its 6th year. Golf The Harbour Club, adjacent to the Jolly Harbour Marina, is one of the Caribbean’s premier golf courses. Karl Litton, a leading golf course architect, created this challenging venue amongst tropical scenery, seven lakes and cascading hilly landscapes. Open daily to visitors. Annual membership also available. The Eastern Caribbean Golf Championship’s and the annual Antigua Open has been hosted by the internationally recognized golf centre, Cedar Valley Golf Club. Cedar Valley is 5,932 yard 69 par 18-hole course located near St. John’s. Top golfers have been drawn to this Cedar Valley. | ||
